Our Cardiologists
Our Cardiologists are highly trained and have extensive experience from various public hospitals. Beside general cardiology training, they have received advanced cardiology training in their subspecialty. They have conducted numerous research and published in peer-review journals. They attend local and international meetings regularly to keep themself abreast with the cutting-edge technology and medical knowledge.
Dr. Fei Y. (David) Chong, Cardiologist and ECHO/Cardiac CT Specialist MBBS (MELB), M MED (Singapore), MRCP(UK), FRACPDr Chong is a cardiologist with particular interest in clinical cardiology, stress testing, echocardiography, CT coronary angiogram, cardiovascular risk assessment, chest pain, valvular heart disease and heart failure.
Dr Chong was trained at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He completed his training in internal medicine in Singapore and Australia. He obtained the Master of Medicine and was admitted as a member of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP). His specialty Cardiology training was undertaken at the Western Hospital in Victoria. Dr Chong completed his advanced cardiology fellowship in echocardiography at the Flinders Medical Centre, South Australia and has expertise in advanced echocardiography which includes stress echocardiography, contrast echocardiography, 3D echocardiography and transoesophageal echocardiography. He has been attested by the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE, North America) to have successfully completed the examination of special competence in adult echocardiography. He also completed level 2 training in CT coronary angiography from the UCLA-Harbor Medical Centre, California in USA. He was admitted as a Fellow of Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Dr Chong is a member of Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. Dr Chong is a visiting consultant at the Epworth Eastern Hospital, Box Hill and St John of God Hospital, Berwick. He is fluent in languages other than English including Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay/Indonesian.
Dr. Manoj ObeyesekereMBBS, FRACP, MRCP, FHRSCardiologist and Cardiac Electrophysiologist
Dr Manoj Obeyesekere is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist specializing in the management of arrhythmias, including device implantation, including biventricular pacing and defibrillators and catheter ablation including atrial fibrillation ablation. Dr Manoj Obeyesekere received his MBBS from Monash University (2000) and trained in Cardiology at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. He undertook post-graduate training in electrophysiology and pacing at Monash Medical Centre and advanced electrophysiology and pacing training at the acclaimed University Hospital, University of Western Ontario, Canada. He also took a prominent role in research and his original research has been published in internationally regarded journals. Manoj practices in both public and private hospitals in Melbourne.
